CASE STUDIES

Background:
Family Sports Concepts, Inc. (Beef 'O' Brady's Restaurants) is the parent company to over 200 franchise owned restaurants in 10 states. Beef 'O' Brady's restaurants were founded in Brandon, FL with one location in 1986. By 2003, Beef’s had grown to over 150 stores and at that time, the home office realized the need to expand their website and its capabilities as a tool to communicate with the franchise partners as well as expand the site for the general public.
Challenge:
Doubletake's challenge was to maintain the homey grass roots feel and family-friendly, community-involved atmosphere that has made this restaurant chain so successful, yet upgrade the overall brand and develop protocols that would be used throughout all 200+ stores. This involved a complete re-design of the Beef 'O' Brady's website both front end and back end – while still utilizing their existing database and allowing operations as well as marketing to communicate with the partners and home office. This entailed a 3 Phase project for the transition from the old website to the new site.
Focus:
Doubletake began with the website organization and graphic design. As part of the transition from the old design,we refined the new look through extensive research into design and colors, especially when creating a new menu.We chose specific colors that stimulate hunger and incorporated food photography. We felt that to maintain the continuity of the new Beef's look it should be duplicated on the web as well as on all menus and printed marketing materials and advertising.

Background:
Stram Electronics, a custom designer and installer of very high-end home theaters and audio, security and wiring, had been in business since 1988. Stram Electronics came to Doubletake with an identified problem that potential customers were confused by their name and didn’t realize the scope of their products/services.
Challenge:
Stram Electronics needed a name that would be more identifiable with what their products/services were. The challenge was to create a new identity for the company while maintaining the customer base that they had built for over 15 years.
Focus:
After suggesting changing the name to Home Theater Gallery by Stram Electronics, (with a heavy emphasis on the former) Doubletake was then able to develop a strategy for the new brand. We created the new logo and incorporated this design across the board, from stationary, company brochures and
advertising to the new website.
Benefits:
Home Theater Gallery has since experienced a more concise message to their clients as well as less confusion about what it is they have to offer new clients. They also have a new image that more accurately reflects the products and services that they offer.

Background:
Magnum Steel is a alloy steel service center that services the
power generation, sugar and mining industries.Magnum was
founded in 1988 and was growing into other areas in the steel
industry and was branching out by starting other comanies
that complemented the original Magnum Steel.
Challenge:
Since Magnum was growing into other areas and had subsidiary
companies - we needed to streamline their identity to
incorporate the new additions to the Magnum family of companies.
They also wanted to be their look to be more corporate
and clean.
Focus:
It was decided to lose the gun graphic in the logo design and
create a masculine, clean look that would be utilized as the
umbrella name for all the individual companies. The logo was
then changed to the Magnum Companies. This needed to be
carried through on their sales literature as well as their redesigned
and implemented website.
Benefits:
The Magnum Companies now have a website that functions
as the corporate site for all the individual companies - so really
there are 5 websites within the home office website. They are
also able to accommodate the a different products and services
at one web location with added functionality for their customer
base.
